01 - Time Thief. 10 in x 8 in x 12 in. mixed media: watches, leather, sheet metal, thread.

I came across various torture devices used on slaves in colonial America, and I created this rendition - portraying how time can be the harshest captor.

02 - Facial Facets. 12 in x 8 in x 3 in. mixed media: polymer clay, acrylic, markers, lipstick.

Much like how one person is made of various different characteristics, I liked the idea of using different mediums to create one self portrait.

03 - Techno Fishbowl. 12 in x 5 in x 5 in. cut steel with rust design, glass vase.

Living in a city as tech-savvy as Cupertino, I have often felt like I was drowning - in worries, in limitations, in expectations.

04 - Boba Frenzy. 8 in x 4 in x 4 in each. mixed media: water, gold fish, painted marbles, boba cups.

A representation of drowning in the expectations held by my city, where boba is (almost) the most defining quality of our identity.

05 - Book Flight. 19 in x 14 in x 4 in. mixed media: cut book, printed image, wire, playing cards.

I was inspired by the story of the geishas during World War II, and wanted to pay homage to their history.

06 - Tastes Fishy. 10 in x 10 in. mixed media; cut fish, goldfish-shaped crackers, furikake seasoning, rice, chopsticks, paper plate.

You are what you eat.

07 - Social Media. 27 in x 26 in x 24 in. mixed media: cut chicken wire fence, print collage, cable.

Living trapped in a bubble of social media.

08 - Convergence. 30 in x 30 in x 30 in. mixed media: wood skewers, thread.

I wanted to somehow create a physical representation of light.

09 - Food Chain. 15 in x 4 in x 4 in. mixed media: octopus tentacle, goldfish, glass containers, water.

By using the jars, I wanted to create the illusion of the goldfish narrowly escaping the tentacle of its predator - yet show that the threat isn't completely gone.

10 - Familiar Weather. 36 in x 36 in x 14 in. mixed media: umbrella, cut Polaroid photos.

In the darkness of the rain, I wanted to be able to look up and see something that would keep me warm.

Blue Project. 7 in x 4 in. card stock, markers.

I previously suffered from anorexia nervosa, which turned my hands and lips blue.
